We close our German tour on the banks of the Rhine River, with a concert in the Stiftskirche. This church crypt houses the grave and final resting place of St. Goar, whose visitors included the Emperor Charlemagne. Across the Rhine and slightly upriver is the Lorelei Rock, with a statue calling to mind the maiden once said to have sat there singing, luring sailors to a watery death.
